Effective August 13, 2005, the European Union (an alliance of 27 countries) has implemented the WEEE Directive which mandates the collection, re-use, re-cycling and energy recovery of electrical and electronic equipment at the time of its first disposal. Essentially, producers are responsible for providing take-back programs for all electrical and electronic equipment.

Protex Intl. has enforced an immediate action plan for complete compliance including new company infrastructures, new WEEE compliant product designs, product markings, and end-user instructions. In addition, through our partnership with our international distributors, we are able to oversee and monitor compliance throughout the European Union.
